Set Information
As of this writing, cards from 2018-19 Prizm have been graded more than 100,000 times by PSA. There's still a ways to go before reaching 253,350 cards (the pop report of 1986-87 Fleer) or 139,405 (the pop report for 1989 Upper Deck baseball). But 2018-19 Prizm's total pop report dwarfs, for example, mass-produced 1990 Fleer's pop report, which consists of a comparatively modest 23,482 cards. Of course, 2018-19 Prizm also contains one of the best rookie classes of recent past. It boasts coveted rookie cards of Luka Doncic, Trae Young, and Michael Porter Jr., among other young stars. Put simply, 2018-19 Prizm is equal parts common and iconic. Lately, that has been a recipe for strong prices on the market. To complement the large number of base cards, 2018-19 Prizm is loaded with highly sought after chases. For example, 2018-19 marks the advent of the instantly popular Nebula 1/1 and Tiger Stripe Prizm parallels. And it contains, of course, the ever-important Gold /10 and Black 1/1 parallels. In total, there are over 30 parallels to the base set, a marked expansion over previous years of Prizm, and an indication of Panini's optimism about how its most important mid-range product would perform. Hobby boxes were had for as low as $200 upon release.
